Hey everybody, we are delighted to announce our April meeting will be a cool CF & Flash Builder Launch Party on April 7th at 7PM! We are honored to host Terry Ryan, Platform Evangelist for Adobe, as he will demonstrate these two cool products. Not only that but we will have food, drinks, games and prizes.
Adobe just released ColdFusion Builder, Flash Builder, and Flex 4. Join ColdFusion Evangelist Terry Ryan as he takes you through the new tools and framework. He’ll also answer any questions you have about the new release. Also, one lucky attendee gets a free copy of ColdFusion Builder.
Also, since we do our CFUG presentations at Cal Poly Pomona University, students this is for you: ColdFusion Builder and Flash Builder are FREE for you!! Just read terry's article to know more about it. Anyways, below is the information of where this event will be hosted, as it is different from our usual meeting place, we have the big room now!
Here’s a building plan for Bronco Student Center that shows Ursa Minor as room 2135 near the center of the 2nd floor (right click to make the map zoomable and draggable): http://www.asi.csupomona.edu/bsc/bscmap.php. Also see the campus map at http://www.csupomona.edu/maps/dynamic/index.php?structureID=Bg-35
Non-students could use the GUEST wireless network for their laptops. See http://www.csupomona.edu/~ehelp/wireless/.

For our March meeting, Ezra Parker will be talking about building applications using jQuery UI and the jqGrid plugin, which is a session that will be presented at cf.Objective() in April. Here's the description:
Building RIAs with jQuery UI & jqGrid
Ever since the introduction of jQuery and other JavaScript/Ajax libraries, you don't need to know Flex in order to construct complex, fully-featured and user-friendly Rich Internet Applications. If you're already familiar with jQuery and want to take your RIA development to the next level, this session will demonstrate the use of the jQuery user interface library widgets and the jqGrid plugin to create an advanced single-page application with a consistent look and feel that can be easily re-skinned using an existing jQuery UI theme or by using ThemeRoller to craft a custom design.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
We're going to push our meeting back one week, to Thursday, March 18th (at the regular time and place -- please see the meetings page for further details).
